“Look well into thyself; there is a source of strength which will always spring up if thou wilt always look.”
― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
We all need to look within for that inner strength but many of us are also lucky that we draw our strength from a special someone who never lets you down even when the going gets tough.
I draw that strength from my husband who has been a a great friend, mentor and someone I can count on. From shopping to career advice, its amazing how over the years I have started to rely on this person I met at work first, almost a decade ago!
I take lot of pride in the fact that I am an independent woman capable of taking care of my own financial, emotional and other needs. Having said that I have no qualms in agreeing that I depend on my husband for lot of things. One of the most important decisions of my life was to quit my job as a journalist and take the risk of being an entrepreneur. My husband was the one who encouraged me to take the plunge and without him I wouldn't have dared to take that step. Few days back I was watching Lava Mobiles TVC and I realized the qualities mentioned of trust, reliability and strength are also the qualities that define my husband and the relationship I share with him.
So often we take the person we depend on for granted and at times we forget giving due credit to that person. But that doesn't change the self-less attitude of our loved one who has been there and the one who never lets you down. My husband has been there through good times and the testing times. He never lets me down in my weak moments, irrespective of the fact that I have been there for him or not.
In todays world when relationships are fragile, lives busy and careers challenging, I am lucky to have someone I can depend on and a partner who is trustworthy and reliable. He is my strength and I am glad I wrote this post to thank him, albeit a little late.
